Following the terrorist attack of the Bardo Museum, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts and the Tunisian tourism professionals expressed their condolences to the families of the victims of this despicable act that Tunisia and its people condemn with the utmost force.

The Minister of Tourism and Handicraft Ms. Selma Elloumi-Rekik announced that the Tunisian government is determined to fight hard against terrorism and a strengthened security was set up around the tourist areas and in sensitive areas representing the symbols of the national sovereignty as well as in the rest of the country.

Ms Elloumi-Rekik, on the other hand paid tribute to the spirit of solidarity and sympathy from the international community towards Tunisia which will, as always, unite to lead its fight against all forms of extremism and to bring out the values of tolerance and freedom adding that the attack of the Bardo Museum is an extra-Tunisian act and totally opposite to Tunisian society.

Under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic, the Parliament and the Tunisian government a major national march will be held on Sunday April 29th in Tunis to condemn terrorism and the terrorist attack at the Bardo Museum.
